General Surgery Department is located on the second floor and has 40 active beds, consisting of:
- 4 private rooms
- 2 private rooms with special services
- 1 triple-bed room
- 1 quadruple-bed room
- 16 double-bed rooms
This department is fully prepared to admit patients before and after all types of outpatient and general surgical procedures. Renowned specialists in various surgical fields, along with an experienced and dedicated nursing team, are ready to provide high-quality care.
Patients admitted and treated in the General Surgery Department of Azerbaijan Hospital undergo the following procedures:
- Urology (including TURP, TULP, TURBT, varicocelectomy, septoplasty, and various hernia repairs)
- Nephrectomy
- Orthopedic surgery
- Vascular surgery
- Colorectal surgery
- Cosmetic surgery
- Thoracic surgery
- General surgeries (including appendectomy and cholecystectomy)
- Neurosurgery
- Lung surgery
- Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) surgery
- Spine surgery
The nurses in this department possess the necessary skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- Care of surgical patients
Equipment available in the General Surgery Department includes:
- DC shock device
- EKG machine
- Pulse oximeter
- Glucometer
- Syringe pump
- Warmer
- Central and portable suction
- Central and portable oxygen
- Central Nurse Call system
- PACS system for viewing MRI, CT scan, ultrasonography, and radiography images
Rules and Regulations of the General Surgery Department:
- All patients are transferred by the ward nurse and porter to specialized departments (such as Radiology, Echocardiography, Spirometry, and Scanning Center) for necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Upon admission, the department secretary provides patients with educational pamphlets related to their condition. At the time of discharge, additional educational materials for home use are handed over to the patient.
- During admission, hospitalization, and discharge, patients and their companions receive necessary education (both written and verbal) from physicians and nurses.
- At discharge, the department secretary delivers all patient documents, including echocardiography reports, ultrasonography results, radiology images, outpatient laboratory tests, spirometry reports, CT scans, MRI results, and other relevant records, to the patient.
